1. Framlingham Castle 

Framlingham and its castle are synonymous with the county of Suffolk.

Many readers highlighted the happy memories from their youth of the castle, while others pointed to how beautiful it looks in the sunshine. 

It is perhaps best-known to some from outside the county as Ed Sheeran's Castle on the Hill.

2. Sudbury Water Meadows 

The expansive Sudbury Water Meadows is the perfect place for a walk and surrounding yourself in the nature Suffolk has to offer. 

One reader said it was best to visit at sunrise or sunset, although it is worth a visit regardless of the time of day.

3. Southwold 

The much-loved seaside town always leaves people feeling happy.

Whether it is embracing the fresh sea air, a walk on the beach, fun on the pier's arcade or a pint outside on one of the benches outside of The Lord Nelson pub, there is much to adore about Southwold. 

The town's characterful nature has seen it named among the UK's best seaside spots in recent years.

4. Orford 

Another seaside destination named among readers' favourite places was Orford. 

The idyllic National Trust site offers a more calm and peaceful atmosphere compared to other coastal favourites in Suffolk.

5. Long Melford 

Long Melford's long High Street that is brimming with character and charm is another favourite among Suffolk locals and visitors. 

The village has plenty of thriving independent shops that are always filled with customers, while its cafés always promise to leave you feeling satisfied.
