While the road is closed Suffolk Highways will be carrying out carriageway patching before surfacing dressing

According to the Suffolk County Council website the official diversion route is around 45 miles long.

The diversion route is so long as it takes drivers along A roads.

This is because some vehicles like HGVs cannot go down smaller roads that others would use as shortcuts.

For the duration of the closure, traffic will be diverted via  the A1092, A1017, A143, A1302, A134, A1092 and vice versa.
