AN application to turn a motorspares shop in Great Cornard into a takeaway fish and chip shop has been withdrawn, before Babergh District Council had a chance to consider the plans.
Michael Ladak, owner of Mick’s Fish and Chips in Landsdown Road, Sudbury had applied to change the use of Motorspares in Bures Road, to accommodate a takeway and restaurant with seating area.
However, the council received a petition signed by more than 90 residents objecting to the proposal on the grounds of impact to the local envirnoment, road safety, pollution and amenity.
After the petition was submitted, Mr Ladak withdrew his application.
It is also believed that information received from Suffolk County Council highways department influenced Mr Ladak’s decision to withdraw the proposal.
