SUDBURY town councillors are likely to back a campaign to prevent pylons from ruining landscapes in the Stour Valley.
History Society chairman Barry Wall had written to the authority for suppport in protecting views featured in
Gainsborough’s paintings.
At a leisure and environment committee meeting this week, chairman Lesley Ford-Platt said she did not see why the landscape should be blighted by pylons when the cables could be installed underground.
This week an independent report said the cost of burying cables had been “exaggerated.”
