Speed careers advice event in Hadleigh

Deputy mayor Sue Monks from Hadleigh Town Council is working with the Porch Project, the youth club that has been operating in Hadleigh for a number of years, to host a careers event for the young people of the town.
Local employers are being asked to take part in the Ip-switch event in August.
A number of local businesses have been invited to attend and talk about the skills they require, about training opportunities and provide advice on career choices.
Each employer will occupy a table and chair and our young people will follow a route around the room stopping at set intervals at each desk to talk to the employers.
Sue Monks said: “It is a bit like speed dating, but with a difference.”
The deputy mayor has been working with Zac Corrie, a young worker at the Porch Project to put this event on for the local community, for the first time.
“We hope the event will help the young people make choices as they move forward, and provide a vehicle for local businesses to let young people know, first hand, what skills they are looking for in growing their businesses,” she added.
“We are delighted to host the event. It is important that our young people have every opportunity and that our community can provide this, helping the young people into their future.”
