Councils are reminding residents to recycle over the Christmas period.

Babergh and Mid Suffolk district councils are providing homeowners with 49 drop-off points where real Christmas trees can be recycled and then turned into compost.

The trees can also be placed in a household’s brown bin for collection during January.

Sara Michell, Mid Suffolk’s portfolio holder for the environment, and John Hinton, Babergh’s lead member for the environment, have both welcomed the announcement.
