DOZENS of unwanted pets will be given better lives thanks to a new charity shop in Sudbury.
The Danaher Animal Home – an entirely self-funded independent charity affiliated to the RSPCA – has taken over a unit in Borehamgate Precinct. Money from the shop will go towards the £300,000 annual upkeep of the Wethersfield-based animal sanctuary, which rehomes cats, dogs, rabbits and other pets that have been rescued by the RSPCA.
Chairman of trustees, John Turnbull, said the charity would be unable to exist without its shops. Through the generosity of customers, the home has recently been upgraded with new kennel blocks, facilities for small animals and a surgery room.
