The Sudbury Christmas Tree Festival, which is in its 16th year and is organised by Sudbury Rotary Club, started on Wednesday, December 5, and ends on Sunday, December 9.

A record total of 98 eye-catching trees, which have been decorated by schools, businesses, charities and other organisations, are on display in St Peter’s.

Malcolm Offord, organiser, said: “It’s looking fantastic. The more people come down and have a look then the more money we raise for charity.

“So many different organisations decorate trees, it covers the whole of Sudbury life. It’s that coming together which I think is really important.”

Hundreds of people are expected to visit the festival, including groups of school pupils from the local area.

The beneficiaries of this year’s festival will be East Anglian Air Ambulance, the Richmond Fellowship and Sudbury Befriending.
