Students at Ryes College have voted to support Help for Heroes and set themselves a target to raise £1,000.

Last month they raised £270 on a market stall they set up in Sudbury.

Stephanie Jones, headteacher, said she is very proud that the students have made this commitment to help other who have suffered.

The students are planning further fundraisers this year, including a sponsored assault course and other market stalls.

The Ryes welcome young people from across the UK and provide three safe and nurturing homes for them to live if needed.

It also provides quality education for day pupils who live more locally around the Suffolk and Essex areas.
