There are treacherous driving conditions reported across the whole region, from the A14 and A12 to rural and urban roads.

A yellow Met Office warning for snow was originally in place until 11am in the region, but has now stretched until 11.55pm tonight.

East Anglia-based forecasters Weatherquest tweeted: “Further snow moving in from the east and northeast through the morning, becoming more infrequent and lighter in the afternoon. Increasing easterly winds with gusts near 45mph on the coast later. Max -1C.”
