Aldeburgh Food and Drink Festival at Snape Maltings

September 23 and 24

This weekend’s festival is a celebration of Suffolk’s food and drink scene.

It will have more than 100 exhibitors selling their produce from milk, organic vegetables, beer and street food.

The family-friendly event has free admission for those under 15 and will be full of activities for the whole family to enjoy.

On top of being able to try the local produce, there will also be cooking demonstrations.

Autumn Wild Food Taster At Brandon Country Park

Brandon Country Park is hosting a wild food taster event this week.

The event will give people the opportunity to learn about wild edible plants from expert Jon Tyler.

He will offer guidance, identification tips, and the chance to taste the wild food treats.

The food taster is suitable for anyone over the age of seven.

Tudor Life Re-creation at Kentwell Hall

September 23 and 24

Step back in time and see everyday life in Tudor times.

There will be 100 costumed Tudors walking around the manor for Michaelmas weekend - in Tudor times this was when they would celebrate harvest.

You will also have the chance to meet Kentwell’s gardeners and find out about the apple and pears which dominate the garden in autumn.

Please note that visitors shouldn’t arrive wearing costumes.

Felixstowe Ferry Sailing Club’s annual RNLI Music and Beer Festival

September 22-24

Felixstowe Ferry Sailing club is holding a music and beer festival this weekend to raise money for volunteer lifesavers at sea.

The weekend has something for all the family to enjoy with live music, a barbecue, entertainment for children and the chance to sail.

The event starts at 6pm on Friday, September 22, and continues from noon on both Saturday and Sunday.

Please be aware that parking will be limited, it is advised that festival-goers park at the cliff top car park and walk along the sea wall to visit the event.

All About Dogs Show at Hylands House and Estate

A day your family and your canine friend can enjoy!

The UK’s largest outdoor event dedicated to dogs returns to Hylands House in Chelmsford this weekend.

Enjoy the arena displays, get involved with competitions and browse dog-related crafts and gifts.

Tickets cost £14 for adults and £5 for children.

Clay Workshops at The Room at Melton

Get creative this weekend at The Room at Melton.

Emma Robertson, a qualified tutor, is offering clay workshops to teach you everything you need to know to create your own masterpiece.

Have a relaxing day with friends learning different techniques, experimenting with colour and perfecting your creation.

The workshop takes three hours and children are welcome.

Roman River Music Festival at Colchester

September 23-October 1

The three-week long festival is coming to the end, so make sure you catch it this weekend.

The festival consists of a variety of performers from classical musicians, beat boxers, and choreographers.

This weekend on Saturday, September 23, superstar pianist Benjamin Grosvenor will be impressing crowds at Fordham church and then on Sunday, September 24, talented oboist Tristian Cox will be putting on a show you wont forget at Fingringhoe Church.
