A GROUP of top basketball players met in west Suffolk this weekend to stage a demonstration match to raise much-needed funds.
The event at Sudbury Sports Centre involved demonstrations by members of the region’s two women’s wheelchair basketball teams – the Eastern Blue Stars and the Aspire Stars.
The crowd also got to see three-time Paralympian Caroline Maclean, from Haverhill, in action. She was joined by Sally Wager, from Kettering, who played in the Athens and Beijing Paralympics, Paralympian and coach Wendy Smith, from Tiptree, and rising stars Amy Conroy, from Norwich, and Emily Scrivener, from Sible Hedingham.
