A NUMBER of bands and tribute acts will take centre stage at a two-day festival celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Sudbury will host the third Live and Kicking event on June 3 and 4, which will feature Coldplay, Lady Gaga, Bon Jovi, Katy Perry and The Commitments tribute acts.
Supporting the groups will be a number of local bands including one from Sudbury Upper School. There will also be bouncy castles, giant inflatable slides, face painting, gladiator duels, and children’s entertainer Paul Pleasance.
Held at the MEL Group Stadium, the home of Ryman Football League team AFC Sudbury, Live and Kicking has this year teamed up with LeeStock – launched in memory of music-mad Lee Dunford who died aged just 21 after a four year battle against cancer – to form a two-day music event.
Richard Instance, of Live and Kicking, said: “We are delighted to have attracted some of the UK’s leading tribute acts, and with the variation we have I am sure there is something there for everyone making for a perfect family festival, which is always our main aim.
“However, we are equally pleased to have so many local bands playing as we are a very community minded club. We are lucky to have a thriving music scene in Sudbury and we are delighted to give local musicians a platform from which to showcase their talents.”
