AFC Sudbury manager Jamie Godbold wants his side to clean-up their act, the team have now picked up 12 red cards this season.

Kris Newby received two yellow cards and was sent off for the second time this season against Harlow on Saturday, Sudbury’s sixth red card in their last eight league games.

Then, in last night’s 3-0 League Cup defeat at home to Grays, Lawrence Yiga was dismissed for the second time this season.

“I was a long way away from it (Newby’s second yellow) and whilst the lads say he won the ball, when you are on a yellow, to ask a referee to make a decision when you go in 100% committed, you are asking for trouble,” said Godbold, after Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Harlow.

“I am hoping that we will learn, I have just got to try and find a way to make them learn.

“We finished the game yet again with 10 men and I wonder if it’s a case of people wanting to impress. As a result, sometimes we don’t play with our heads.

“The dressing room is aware of the issues, but it seems to be the same couple of people so we have got to try and keep an eye on it and stop it happening.”
