Ipswich Town could welcome midfielder Cole Skuse back for a busy Easter weekend of Championship fixtures.

The 31-year-old has missed the Blues’ last two games – the 3-0 home win over Wigan and the 3-1 defeat at Fulham – with concussion, but is fit again ahead of Ipswich’s trip to 20th-placed Burton Albion on Good Friday (7.45pm) and Easter Monday’s home clash with second-placed Newcastle United.

Manager Mick McCarthy is missing defenders Jonas Knudsen and Stephen Taylor for the remainder of the season, but the likes of Tommy Smith, Jonny Williams, Paul Digby, Danny Rowe, Teddy Bishop, Dominic Samuel and Kieffer Moore all played in the Blues’ under-23s 2-1 win at Millwall in midweek and are in contention.

Town are nine points clear of the Championship’s bottom-three with five games to play and face a Burton side on Friday that are four points further behind the Blues, in what is their first-ever season in English football’s second tier.

  • Well that's fantastic news! Town have sorely missed Skuseys presence in Midfield. The goals have dried up, here's hoping he bangs a few goals in.

  • Don't think this is really going to excite any Ipswich supporters, you know what to expect from him, a defensive midfielder, whose passing range is mainly backwards, and sideways, he has no pace to worry the opposition, and he is hardly a goal threat, as one goal, albeit a spectacular one, is all he has scored for us. A steady eddy yes, but he is hardly going to make himself a nuisance to the opposition

  • Well with Micks love child Scusey back for the Burton and Newcastle games, that's us Fooked, but Just to get rid of Mick & Tel I would like to see us relegated, and Mick can add another relegation to his CV, and as Poet has said chuck in Good old Dougie for good measure, and really P**S the fans right off. Oh and Chantry, Hell will freeze over before parts with any serious funds, so don't build your hopes up,

  • Who cares he is one of mcarthys favourites so would be in whatever. Now play Douglas as well and that will be a masterstroke.

  • What a mess !! Evans might wake up one day and realize what really needs doing at this club.

  • Go on McCarthy, put old Douggie in alongside Skucy, you know you want to, after all, why spoil a season of masterstrokes.
