Ipswich Town thrashed Sunderland 5-2, here are MIKE BACON’S match player ratings.

33 Bartosz Bialkowski...7

Had little chance with either goal and made a couple of excellent blocks, including a fine reaction tip-over from Lee Cattermole’s header.

2 Dominic Iorfa...7

Growing nicely into the right-back role. Attacked well too, especially first half, showed good strength.

3 Jonas Knudsen...8

Superb defensive and attacking game from Knudsen. Got forward so much in the first half, an excellent all-round performance.

4 Luke Chambers...7

Up against a feisty Sunderland attack, Chambers held his own as he always does. Again, led from the front.

8 Cole Skuse...7

Wanted the ball all the time, especially first half. Kept the game ticking over nicely for Blues.

9 Martyn Waghorn...9

Three assists, one goal and an outstanding performance from start to the time he came off near the end. My man-of-the-match.

10 David McGoldrick...8

The glue that kept the team together, from defence to attack. Scored one and set up Ward for his goal with true touch of class.

11 Bersant Celina...7

Did the right things at the right time and was a bit more conservative than usual. But that was for the better. Took his goal superbly.

12 Jordan Spence...7

Looks like he has played centre-half for years and years. Wonderful headed goal from Waghorn’s corner.

14 Joe Garner...8

Feisty, never-say-die attitude, Garner doesn’t stop working the front line. Superb cross for Waghorn’s opener.

15 Tom Adeyemi...7

Got forward, got back and looked very comfortable in the middle of the park. Town have a good signing here.
