The Suffolk postcodes where the most homes were bought have been revealed.

Estate agents at Savills have compiled a list which shows the postcodes where the most homes were bought in the between October 2022 and October 2023 as these are currently the latest figures available.

At the top of the list was NR33 8, which is in Lowestoft.

The IP3 8 postcode in Ipswich was the second location on the list and includes places like Felixstowe Road, Foxhall Road and Derby Road.

Other areas in the county include Stowmarket, Bury St Edmunds, Sudbury and Elmswell.

The full list can be seen below.

Peter Ogilvie, head of residential sales at Savills in Suffolk, said: “You would expect areas where the price of property is comparatively lower to have a high turnover – often these could be apartments or one and two bedroom properties purchased by first-time buyers who use it as a way to get themselves onto the property ladder and move on after two or three years.

"Conversely, where property prices are higher, you tend to have a bit more longevity as they’re usually larger, family homes so people move around less often.

"The postcodes on the list are well spread out across the county – from Lowestoft and Ipswich through to Elmswell, Stowmarket and Bury St Edmunds.

"However what they do have in common is that they are well connected, have good access to surrounding amenities and are all in, or at least relatively close to, town centres or well-served villages.”
