From an artisan market to a fashion show featuring local designers, here are five major events to look forward to across Suffolk this month.

1. Ipswich Artisan Festival

When: Sunday, April 7

Where: Ipswich Cornhill

Ipswich is set to “come alive” as 30 local artisan stalls fill the Cornhill offering a range of local produce, street food, and arts and crafts.

Some of the fresh street food available on the day includes wood-fired pizzas from SmokeyDeez and Po’Boys from the Nola Bayou Kitchen.

Other traders include The Norwegian Bakers, Briarbank Brewery, Hare Cottage and Boo Barking Bakery.

2. Catwalk and Chill

When: Sunday, April 14

Where: Stonham Barns Park

Showcasing the work of Saria Goy, a fashion designer from Norwich, Catwalk and Chill was created for people who follow fashion, make-up and jewellery trends.

As well as a fashion show, the event will include independent beauty consultants and therapist brining treatments which can be pre-booked online.

Organiser Maria Johnson said: “It will be an event where nostalgia meets vintage and everything wrapped around it to make it a day to remember.”

3. Beauty and the Beast

When: Sunday, April 7

Where: Ipswich Regent

The one-day show has an all-star cast taking on the classic tale of Beauty and the Beast.

Steps member Lee Latchford-Evans will be the Prince and the Beast while CBBC presenter Barney Harwood will play Gaston.

Performances are at 2pm and 6pm with tickets costing £22.55 for concessions and £24.75 for adults.

4. Andy Parsons: Bafflingly Optimistic

When: Thursday, April 18

Where: The Apex, Bury St Edmunds

Best known for his appearances on Live At The Apollo and Mock The Week, comedian Andy Parsons is bringing his new show to Bury St Edmunds.

It follows the performer's sold out and critically acclaimed run at the Edinburgh Festival.

There are still some tickets available for the 8pm show with prices starting at £17.

5. Ipswich Scout Gang Show

When: Wednesday, April 3 until Saturday, April 6

Where: Great School Theatre

Returning for its 86th year, the Ipswich Gang Show brings together Scouts, Guides, Rangers, Explorers and Cubs for a variety show.

The show's purpose is to empower young people to make a positive contribution to society through performance.

Tickets cost £15 for adults and £10 for under 16s, with evening performances and a matinee on Saturday.
