Four fire crews from Essex and Suffolk went to a house blaze in Great Cornard this afternoon.
Emergency teams were sent to Raydon Way at 12.01pm.
The first Sudbury crew on scene immediately called for back-up, with firefighters from Halstead, Hadleigh and Ixworth also attending.
Firefighters wore breathing apparatus as they tackled the blaze on the ground floor of the end-of-terrace home, which was also heavily smoke-logged.
The fire was out by 1.20pm, with crews remaining on scene for 40 minutes damping down.
