A woman and her Labrador dog were attacked by a Staffordshire Bull Terrier-type dog during a walk at a Suffolk reservoir, police have said.
The woman was bitten on both hands and was treated in hospital and her dog was treated at a veterinary surgery after suffering flesh wounds to his neck and front.
The attack took place while the woman was walking her dog at the reservoir on Haycock Road (A1307) in Haverhill at around 9.20am on Monday.
Police are investigating and are asking witnesses and people with information about the incident to come forward.
The dog is described as black with white patches and it was not believed to be wearing a collar. The owner of this dog is described as being a white man, 5ft 9ins tall, bald, and was wearing a black coat and dark trousers.
