Two people have been charged in connection with drug offences.

On Monday, March 18, officers from the serious crime disruption team, Sudbury community police teams and members of the west Kestrel team conducted arrests at properties in Applegate Mews, Great Cornard and in New Cut, Glemsford.

It follows an investigation into a local drugs line offering class A, class B and class C drugs.

A 25-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman were arrested and taken to Bury St Edmunds police station for questioning and were subsequently charged in connection with multiple drug offences.

Harry Mayers, of New Cut in Glemsford, was charged with five offences including the supply of cocaine and cannabis between November 17, 2022 and November 15, 2023 and the supply of cocaine, a class C drug, and a controlled drug of class B between January 26, 2024 and February 9, 2024.

Louise Perkins, of Applegate Mews in Great Cornard, was charged with six offences including the supply of cocaine and cannabis between November 17, 2022 and November 15, 2023, the supply of controlled class C drug, pregabalin, between August 9, 2023 and December 4, 2023 and the supply of cocaine, a class C drug and a controlled class B drug between January 26, 2024 and February 9, 2024. 

The pair were remanded in custody and will appear before Suffolk Magistrates' Court in Ipswich on Tuesday, March 19.
