Man identified after racially aggravated assault in Hadleigh store

The number of assaults peaked at 462 the year before – having almost doubled from 275 in 2014/15

A man has been identified following an incident of racially aggravated assault in a store in Hadleigh.

The incident happened in Partridge’s in High Street on Saturday, July 16.

A man in his 60s was in the store when he was pushed by another man, causing the victim to fall to the ground.

Suffolk police released a CCTV image of a man they wanted to speak to in connection with the incident.

A man  in his 30s has now came forward in connection with the incident. He has been interviewed under caution on a voluntary basis and is assisting with ongoing enquiries.

Police would like to thank the public for their assistance with the matter.
