An Aldi lorry was involved in a crash with a red Volkswagen car in Cross Street in Sudbury at around 2.30pm today, Saturday November 24.

Eyewitness reports said that the two vehicles were blocking the road causing traffic to build around the town.

The two vehicles appeared to be wedged together, preventing other vehicles from passing and in particular causing hold-ups for those heading towards Halstead and out of the market town.

A police spokesman later confirmed the road had been cleared by 4pm.

He added that no one had been injured as a result of the crash.
